Free Internet Speed Test
This free internet connection speed test measures your ping, download speed, and upload speed. To check your internet speed, press the button below. The test takes about 30 seconds and shows how your connection is performing.

Before you start
✓ Close other apps and tabs – For accurate results, close streaming services, downloads and other programs using your internet
✓ Connect to Wi-Fi – If testing Wi-Fi speed, make sure you’re connected. For your full internet speed, connect your device directly to your modem with a cable
✓ Run the test a few times – Speeds can vary, so test 2-3 times at different times of day for a better picture
Check Your Internet Speed
This free internet connection speed test measures three things: your ping (response time), download speed (how fast you receive data), and upload speed (how fast you send data).
To check your internet speed, simply press the “Run Speed Test” button. The test takes about 30 seconds and will show you exactly how your connection is performing right now.
If you’re experiencing slow internet, buffering videos, or connection dropouts, running a speed test helps identify whether the problem is with your internet plan or something else.
Understanding Your Internet Connection
When you test your internet connection, you’re checking three key measurements that affect everything you do online.
- Ping (or latency) shows how quickly your device communicates with internet servers. Lower ping times mean faster response when you click links or load pages.
- Download Speed is how quickly you can receive data from the internet. This affects streaming videos, browsing websites, and downloading large files. Most households need at least 25 Mbps download speed for smooth streaming and everyday use.
- Upload Speed measures how fast you can send data. This matters when you’re video calling family, sending photos, or uploading large files to the cloud. Upload speeds are typically slower than download speeds, but 10 Mbps is usually enough for most activities.
Your internet service provider determines your maximum speed based on your plan. However, your actual speed can be affected by Wi-Fi signal strength, how many devices are connected, and whether you’re using a cable or wireless connection.
If your speed test shows significantly lower speeds than what you’re paying for, it might be time to troubleshoot your connection or speak with your internet services provider.
